One day to go for the 33rd WI Course

The 33rd Welding Inspector Course will be conducted tomorrow July 12 until July 16, 2019.

Detail of the Course are as follows:

COURSE TITLE: Welding Inspector’s Course


COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes in Welding Inspection in accordance with industry standards. It covers the core competencies such as Duties and responsibilities of Welding Inspector, Welding processes, Weld defects, types of steel, weldability, heat treatment, visual inspection, testing parent metals and welds, destructive test, NDT techniques, welder and welding procedure approval, codes and standards, and safety.

COURSE OUTCOMES: At the end of this course, the student will be able to: 1.) Know the responsibilities of a welding inspector, 2.) Know the different types of welding processes, 3.) Know the different types of weld defects, 4.) Know the different types of steels, 5.) Know what is weldability, 6.) Know the different types of heat treatment processes, 7.) Know how to conduct visual inspection, 8.) Know the different types of NDT and Destructive Testing, 8.) Prepare a WPQT and WPS and 9.) Know the different industry codes and standards.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Students wishing to gain entry into this course should posses the following requirements:

1.) At least 3rd year engineering or Graduate engineers. 2.) If High School Graduate: you must have at least 1 year experience as welder, welding supervisor, fabrication supervisor, or welding foreman.
